ARK Survival Evolved Save Game Location

The location for your saved game folder depends on your version of Windows.

Where are saved games located?

ARK Survival Evolved save games can be found here:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal

Note: When it’s running, ALT+TAB and open task manager and go to Details, right click on the exe and “show folder location”.

Note: Sometimes you need to show hidden folders in Windows. To do that;

  • Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
  • Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
  • Select the View tab and in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.

It’s end. I hope “ARK Survival Evolved Save Game Location” helps you. Feel free to contribute the topic. If you have also comments or suggestions, comment us.

  1. how do you access the save game location if you bought the game from the Microsoft store, not steam?

    1. Microsoft save location is in C:\users\”user name”\appdata\local\packages\studiowildcard.”bunch of numbers\localstate\

  2. The Task Manager shows the location of the executable file that is running. Which is D:\Program Files\Epic Games\ARKSurvivalEvolved\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64. But backing up the Win64 folder will backup your game. I read somewhere that the folder to backup is D:\Program Files\Epic Games\ARKSurvivalEvolved\ShooterGame\Saved. But after making several backups over a couple of months I decided it was time to test how well the backups worked. Short version – they didn’t. It was like starting the game all over.

    So till trying to figure out a Windows 10 Backup/Restore procedure that actually works for Ark:Survival Evolved (Steam)

    If you actually tried your solution and found it to work, great for you. But I hope your not just re-posting something found online just to add content to your site. My ad blocker blocked 8 ads on your site so just wondering. I get it, everybody needs an income.
