Deadside Beginners Guide (Tips & Tricks)
DeadSide is a hardcore looter survival game. In the past I have played Escape from Tarkov, Dayz Standalone, and Scum and from my DeadSide experience I have noticed that this game is a mix of the three.
Starting Off
In DeadSide you will spawn in one of the random respawn points the developers have set across the map. You will spawn with your basic clothes which have little to no slots, a knife and a lighter. These are your essentials to surviving in DeadSide. The whole goal of DeadSide is kind of like Escape from Tarkov, you loot, kill, store, repeat, at least as of now. So get out there and find some loot and just have fun!
Safezones
In DeadSide the safezones are very important. In the safezone you will have a vault where you can store your high value loot or even your money. Money is obtained by looting NPCs or selling items at the trader in the safezone. At the safezone there are two traders, one trader being the trader of essentials such as food, water, and other recources. The other trader is in place to offer weapons, ammunition, and even clothing. When trying to sell items to the NPC traders you must trade the items to the correct vendor in order to receive your money.
Missions
Missions in DeadSide are very fun but also very scary. The missions are normally hard and there will most likely be other players there who will try and kill you for your loot. Some missions include supply crates and even pvp/pve mission.
Conclusion
As you all know, the game is brand new as it launched today, April 14th. I would like to proudly say that this is an amazing game and I appreciate all of the people who are here supporting this game from day one as only through us will this game grow to what we want it to be in the future. Sorry this guide was so short, I do apologize as I am just getting into the game myself.

How to’s for Deadside
Starting the game or spawning in.
You will spawn in with just pants on, which hold only two items.
Take a look at the map and see where you want to go. You will have a knife and a lighter.
Remember, your character only hold two items. Start Looting… collect everything!
Clothing – Check clothing and see how many slots they hold or tear them up for using in cloth to heal. Unless you have found clothing with more pockets, you will need only the essentials.
Ammo – pick up your ammo, it stacks to 100. Make sure to have the right ammo for the guns you pick up.
Hordes – there are group up people(NPC’s) that will spawn in and start shooting at you, get to cover, kill them and loot there bodies.
Swapping item in bag
Unless you have space in other components or pockets, you can drop an item to fill the spot… beware, because NPC’s that shoot you will spawn in. Make sure you are covered or in a covering.
Safezones – are where you can store your items and trade with traders.
Traders – Be sure to go to the right trader to get the money from the item you are trying to sell. For a standard keyboard setup, CHECK to see if there is a dollar value over the item you want to sell if not, then you CANNOT sell the item. It will be a green bar with an amount that you can get from selling the item.
Im just saying, if you want to keep stuff put it in your storage, like valuables. Money and other stuff, your choice.
You can always get more stuff.
How to use the items
Right click the item, select add to HOTBAR, once on the hotbar, left click to use and hold down.
How to squad up
Point at the person and hit F5 – it will then ask them to press F5 to join and you are joined to the player of your choice. I am only playing with another person, not sure how many players the squad can hold. Learning still…
More to come…as I explore.
Game Start
You will spawn in with just pants on, you will have a shirt, but it will have NO pockets to store items in, so the pants will hold only two items. Take a look at the map and see where you want to go. You will have a knife and a lighter. Remember, your character only hold two items. Start Looting…..collect everything that you can.
Clothing
Clothing – Check clothing and see how many slots they hold or tear them up for using in cloth to heal. Unless you have found clothing with more pockets, you will need only the essentials. The track pants has only two slots….you can tell this by the squares are of a darker shade.

Map & Loot Locations
On the map u can see 2 typs of marks. White and green one.
- The white one are for bigger location and it is possible to finde on some of them missions. For example on point 1, 5 and 6.
- The green points are possible AI patrol and location. Sometimes they have good loot and sometimes also bad loot. It is totally random.
But for sure the white marked locations are points of interest. Here you can find better loot then in towns. But keep in mind it is toally random and you have to shoot your way!
What to do after spawn?
While your are on search for a gun have allways a look on clothes and food/drinks, too. Mostly you will finde a scorpion, makarow, hunting rifles and several shotguns. After you found a gun i recommend you to clear the white mark 3 and 4.
We found camouflage clothes, an AKS-74U and a pump action shotgun. With this loot we started to clear level 1 and 2 missions. On mission you have to clear the hole area. After you killed all AIs a massage will appear and you have to look out for a blue lighted chest. In this chest you will find ammo, guns, gear and money. But it depends on the level of the mission and also on radom factor.
