Purge Event – Purgatory
An alternative way to complete the first half of the chapter.
To do this, crawl through the hole in the house where you can see purple blood, and later find this room.
Note: In fact, it’s easier to get to his head, just get into the Taxi Driver’s right sleeve and you’ll be teleported right to his head!
Now, drop into the hole onto the ledge in the same room and complete a short parkour section to obtain the Taxi Driver’s Head.
After that, an alternative path will open up. To activate it, exit the cave and head to the taxi. The giant, who was previously motionless, has now come to life because we’ve returned his head. By talking to him, we’ll unlock the taxi and be able to get in.
This is how the alternative path, called the Purge Event (literally “Event of Purification,” but I’m translating it as Purgatory due to the game’s playful religious references), gets activated. If we keep the humor of the game in mind, it could also be translated as “Flush,” considering we’ve been heading toward a toilet all this time, and now we’re literally going to be flushed away by some pink liquid from this place.
After a section where you need to do a bit of parkour to climb up and go around a collapsed building, while occasionally noticing a little spider peeking at you and guiding you where you need to go, you’ll reach a nightclub. Here, you’ll meet a girl with a unique way of speaking—she’ll pop up if you pull on a rope. There’s also a guy who clearly references Power Rangers and Ninjas, who… well, you’ll have to see what he does for yourself, it’s quite amusing.
If you talk to any of them, a pink liquid will fill the room and you will be teleported to the next stage of the passage along this path, but an important caveat is that you will not be able to talk to all of them at once, so if you are interested in what each of them will say, you will either have to roll back the save after the conversation, or go through this path three times.
In the later stage of Purgatory, you will have to play as a certain dinosaur and go through a maze that clearly refers to the same one in good old Zelda: The Ocarina of Time.
As each of the three characters who move us here notices, we need to go to the whistle. Only pay attention to the whistling, and ignore the bird’s voice, we just go to each door and listen, if we hear a sound, then we go in, everything is very simple, I’m explaining only because I noticed in other manuals people had problems even with such a simple task.
Then we are eaten by the same dinosaur, but much larger, and we find ourselves where both paths through the first half of the game finally converge, at a location with a bridge to the Bathroom.
Taski Maiden
This is the only character we see in four locations (an open world, a ship (after we ring Coral Glasses and hire Taski to work), a maze and a Purge Event), so it is quite possible that she will appear in other chapters.
Hourglasses
In some places, we can find hourglasses, clearly referring to the character with whom the creator of the ENA associates himself, the Hourglass Dog. Apparently, they only appear if you don’t have the Support’s Pack add-on, but if you do, you’ll have to look for the dogs themselves instead.
ENA looks on ENA
In the cave where we found the Taxi Driver’s head, there is also a strange opening in the wall where you can see ENA talking to someone, and this very dog is sitting under the table.
This is a location that can be found outside, in a house enclosed by a coral cage, if you fly there on a free camera from Unity.
Little Spider
Once again, a secret in this cave—purple blood will lead us to this creature, resembling a humanized spider, which seems to function as part of the workforce in this world. It’s trying to reach a tool that’s stuck in the wall.
Most likely, many just moved on, but actually, if you jump and press the action button while looking at the tool, after you fall into the hole, it will appear next to you and thank you for your help. Then, it will note that finding another tool like that would be quite difficult.
Where this purple blood comes from remains unclear, as the little spider isn’t injured. But, we’re not really supposed to get answers to every question, right? Sometimes, leaving things a mystery adds to the experience.
Three types of skipping
Just an interesting detail: by pressing ESC, you can skip dialogues, and there are three types of skips in the game:
- Instant dialogue skip, labeled as Skip.
- Instant call skip, labeled as Hang Up.
- Skip by accelerating the cutscene, which you can encounter, for example, when we first enter the Lonely Door and receive a call from our frog, the Japanese-speaking buddy. You need to approach the glass to view the whole location and open the door leading to it.
Golden Toilet
Sometimes, in the open world, there is such a toilet, which as soon as you pay attention to it and try to approach or at least look at it, immediately goes underground, spinning as if it had flushed itself underground.
Screaming Moon
On the roof of one of the houses in the location with coffins, you can see this moon, which, if touched, looks a little like Behelit from the manga Berserk.
Sad Creature
In the open world, you can encounter this guy. While you’re far away, he will twitch, but as soon as you get close enough, he’ll start staring directly at you, only stopping once you move farther away.
You can encounter him again after you put out the smoke and enter the door, finding yourself in a location that resembles a strange amusement park. There, he will say a few melancholic lines if you talk to him, after which he will stop reacting to you and simply gaze out at the sea.
Mugiwara
If you climb through the holes in the parkour walls from one to the other in the same location with coffins, sooner or later you will reach an opening with a pile of skulls on the walls, and in the distance you can see a certain character in a straw hat and with something like a bird sitting on it.
Using a free camera of Unity, you can fly inside and see this here, as well as the fact that it looks like the passage here is somehow connected to the golden door that can be found at the location.
Familiar Maze
If you go into one of the corridors at the party and turn left, then until you go into the room further you will be able to observe the maze from the “Extinction Party”.
Phone Numbers
I previously mentioned only two numbers, but there are actually quite a few more in the game, possibly around five. They’re not very useful and mainly lead to extra humorous dialogues, unlike the call to Coral, which gives you an achievement.

The phone doesn’t work in all locations, and most often this feature is taken away from us when we fall into illusions or dreams, so, for example, although we don’t have a phone in the first location with a red sky, as soon as we are thrown out of bed, we can immediately use it.
Face
The scenery was obviously created that way on purpose.
Legs
When you first entered a location with portals and a bloody sea, if you jump into the sea, foot will kick you out, and at exactly the same angle at which you flew into the sea.
After you talk to the girl at the reception, jumping into the sea you will start to sink, but then legs will stick to you and you will find yourself behind the reception.
Theatre
On the second floor of the ship, you can walk into two walls without collision, in the first one we will see props in the form of cardboard actors, masks and other things, in one of the openings it is noticeable that these are really props for some kind of scene, because we see the actual scene itself.
In the next passageway, you can find a toilet, a passage blocked by a pile of gold, through which you can crawl if you hold down the crouch button and jump and the passage is closed by a cage.
Difficult Jump
One of the ghostly little creatures from the lost village in the cave will lead you to this cliff.
It looks like it’s impossible to jump over it, but it’s possible, although you’ll need to make an almost perfect jump, the main thing is to try to do it on the right side and don’t try to hope that crouchjumping will speed you up, as it usually happens in other games, here you need to jump in a standing position. As soon as you succeed, you will run into an invisible wall, you need to go around it from the left.
Going further, we can immediately turn left, see a dead end, but in fact there is an invisible wall leading to a door closed on the other side, near which music is playing, the same as in the apartments of Lord Frank.
Then you can see something like we’re in service space.
A little further on there will be a window in which there is a mask of creatures that we can meet near the bridge to the Toilet. From this mask there will be two tricolor stripes next to which lie the heads of snakes and hippos.
And finally, if we go to the end, we will find another dead end, in which it is not yet clear if there are any other secrets, and also this door, which says that it is too early for us to enter it.
Dog Statue
We climb back to the very top of the ship, and walk along the right side until we see the bridge, jump off and go to it.
We cross it and come to a small cluster of stones, come closer and see to our right a path of stones that are far enough away from each other, but nevertheless it is a path, if you move away from it, you will be teleported from here back to the entrance to the ship.
We walk along this path and at the end we meet this statue, with its back turned to us, if you do not approach it from the front on your own.
Fleas
Fleas are constantly jumping in the location of the Red Dream, this can be noticed just by moving along the ground, on one of the shops, if you climb on it through the air conditioners, you can find a flea with which you can interact.
Randomness of the Red Dream
If you run along each track in a dream for a very long time, you will notice that they change literally all the time, below are some examples.
To begin with, I note that objects do not always change, but with relative frequency, so you can run around the same path and meet an object that you have already seen in the same place, or you can find new objects next to it or not find this object in this row again.
Below I show the same place, first a circle after the first screenshot, nothing changed, and then after another one, some of the objects disappeared and everything began to look like in the second screenshot, after another circle there was nothing at all in this place.
Another example is these eyes, which I first met in one lane standing between two lanes, and the second time I saw them right on the right lane. Obviously, they don’t move like they’re alive, they just spawn in another place, which proves once again that objects in this location spawn randomly, as they probably should in a dream, right?
