Signal Strength Summary
For this Fallout 76 quest, you will be searching for the signal repeater schematic, research notes, creating the signal repeater itself. Obviously, there are multiple objectives to this quest but, there aren’t any optional ones.
The Signal Strength quest will take you through Top of the World, Seneca Rocks Visitor Center, Horizon’s Rest, 98 NAR Regional, and National Isolated Radio Array.
Signal Repeater Schematic
Rose wants you to find the signal repeater schematic and if you need her help you are required to do it. Now go North from the Top of the WOrld and you will reach Seneca Rocks Visitor Center.
There will a motel to the NW of the Visitor Center. Enter the motel and on the second floor, you need to loot Major Darion Jone’s body to retrieve Signal Repeater Schematic and Signal Repeater notes.
Read the research notes and you will get two new objectives to acquire parts for the Signal Repeater. Head to the Horizon’s Rest and enter the plane wreckage and you will find the item in the cockpit.
Now get to the 98 NAR Regional. Find a busted train cart here where you will find the second required item. Head towards the nearest Tinker Bench and construct the Signal Repeater.
Make your way to National Isolated Radio Array. Install the Signal Repeater and divert the power to it from the terminal located in a small station which is SW of the Repeater’s location.
Select Auxillary Component Control and then Divert Power to Auxillary Component. This will divert power to the Signal Repeater. Head back to Top of the World and talk to rose to complete the quest.
Signal Strength Walkthrough
Signal Strength is a Main Quest that can be started by tuning in to the Top of the World Radio signal surrounding the Top of the World in The Savage Divide. Completion of this quest is required to complete The Missing Link.

Find the Signal Repeater Schematic
In order to gain Rose’s trust you need to help her expand her radio broadcast’s range. To do this you need to craft a Signal Repeater and install it in the radio array. Begin by heading toward the Seneca Rocks Visitor Center located northeast of Top of the World.
When you arrive head to the buildings backside and do battle with the small army of Scorched located there. Head up to the second floor where you will find the body of Major Darion Jones. Loot him to obtain the Signal Repeater Schematic. There is also a chance that a Diseased Honey Beast will spawn near the Red Rocket next to the visitor center. Kill it for some extra loot before you leave.
Find the Signal Repeater Materials
To craft the Signal Repeater you will need two special materials detailed in the schematic: one RCX01-A39 Duplexer and one SMU-97 Transponder.
To get the Transponder, head southeast of Greg’s Mine Supply towards Horizon’s Rest, the airplane wreckage you see on the world map. When you arrive you will find a tower guarded by Super Mutants. Battle your way to the top of the cliff, where you will find the wreckage of the plane’s nose. Head inside then up to the cockpit where you can find the Transponder in a panel on the wall.
To get the Duplexer, follow the train tracks south of Top of the World to reach a train crash location called 98 NAR Regional. You will likely pass a miner camp and a bandit camp along the way, and its up to you if you simply want to run past or stop and grab some loot.
Upon reaching the train crash site follow the quest marker toward an overturned red train car with some machinery. You will likely run into a few Mr. Gutsys around the wreck site, so take them out before looting the trains. Find the quest marked circuitry panel and loot the Duplexer.
With both pieces in your inventory head to any Tinker’s Bench where you can craft the Signal Repeater and open up the next objective.
Installing the Signal Repeater
With the Signal Repeater in hand, its finally time to install it and complete the quest. From Top of the World, run southeast toward the quest marker to reach National Isolated Radio Array. This area is swarming with Super Mutants when you first arrive, including a chance for a Legendary Super Mutant to spawn. These Super Mutants like to use explosives, and there are plenty of destructible vehicles around making things even more dangerous.
Once the area is clear head slightly northeast of the location marker toward the small radio tower marked with the quest icon. Use the panel at the base of the tower to install the Signal Repeater, and be ready to do battle with a small group of Protectrons that spawn when you do. They are much less threatening, so clear them out then follow the quest marker again towards the small maintenance building near the tower.
Head into the maintenance building and use the quest marked Array Control Terminal. Once inside the terminal, select “Auxiliary Component Control” then “Divert Power to Auxiliary Component”. This will get the Signal Repeater working and strengthen Rose’s radio range. She will speak to you over the airwaves and tell you to come visit her at Top of the World.
Speak to Rose
Warp or walk back to Top of the World then use the elevator to go up to the third floor. Head into Rose’s office to learn the truth about her identity, as well as the fate of Madigan who you have been searching for as apart of The Missing Link quest.
