The Missing Link Summary
This Fallout 76 quest will task players with following the Madigan’s Trail. This quest will take you through Top of the World, Pleasant Valley SkiResort, and Abbie’s Bunker.
Top Of the World
Top of the World is located right in the center of the map. Get to the location and you will face resistance here but, the enemies are between level 5-10.
Build Rose’s Signal Repeater and you will be able to take the elevator to the third floor. Here you will find where the Madigan’s Trail ends and Rose knows what Madigan was looking for.
However, Rose is not willing to share the knowledge unless you help her out. Here you need to complete all of Rose’s quests to progress past this point.
After you have completed her quests grab the broken uplink from the Raider’s Cache. Now we are going to Mire so fast travel to Sunnytop Ski Lanes and make your way East. Once you are at the door of Abbie’s Bunker, hack the terminal and go inside and the quest will be complete.
The Missing Link Walkthrough
The Missing Link is a main quest that can be accepted at the Charleston Fire Department after completing Into the Fire.
This quest can be started, but not completed until you finish all of The Raider Questline, which can be started by speaking to Rose at Top of the World.

Hunt for Hank Madigan
The Missing Link begins with you getting a distress signal from a Firebreather named Hank Madigan. You will be instructed to go to Top of the World to find him. When you approach Top of the World you will be contacted by a woman named Rose via radio. She will give you the quest Signal Strength which must be completed to continue.
Once you complete Signal Strength she will let you use the elevator to access the Observation Level of Top of the World. Here you will find the dead body of Madigan, as well as the NPC Rose who will give you a new quest line that must be completed to progress in The Missing Link.
Raider Quests
At this point you must complete the following quests to proceed in The Missing Link:
Once these quests have been completed you will find the Broken Uplink in the basement of Pleasant Valley Ski Resort, opening up the next objective in the quest.
Free States Bunker
Once you have the Broken Uplink you will be instructed to take it to the Free States Bunker located in The Mire. The bunker is located far to the northeast of ATLAS Observatory, and directly north of Crevasse Dam. Once you reach the bunker (actually named Abbie’s Bunker) use the Access Terminal to unlock the front door and head inside. Once inside a recording will begin speaking to you, and the quest will be completed.
Completion of The Missing Link immediately opens up a new quest, named Early Warnings.
