We all know the game is about managing Public Aquarium and the game itself have a general maintenance about keeping aquatic critters, for Aquarist we probably already know about some feature and I will list the detail about maintaining the aquariums in this guide.
Selling animals and ornaments that already inside an aquarium
Most of basic gameplay are already explained in the game first campaign, like how to zoom in or change camera view, or rotate a Vending Machine, it took me 6 campaign just to know this simple information, simply because the game didn’t explain how to.
Selling animals and ornaments that already inside an aquarium
- Click the aquarium
- Click the demolish icon or (X)
- Pick the animal or ornaments that you want to demolish in the aquarium window tab.
Moving animals or ornaments that already inside an aquarium
There’s two way to do is, first is:
- Click the aquarium
- Click the moving icon
- Pick the animal or ornaments that you want to move
Secondly, the easiest way are:
- Click the aquarium
- Click the animals or ornaments that you want to move
- Click the pick up button in the animals or ornaments window tab
Big animal information
The game already explained some of the animals information like they will eat smaller fishes or dislike food competitors. Some animal stay in fixed size (example: Hermit Crab) and some animal can grow bigger (example: Common Starfish), the growing animals not only getting bigger in size, but in other stats too, and like real fish keeping, the game including a system that these animals can’t grow more bigger (stunned growth) if the aquariums are too small for them. You can use the stunned growth advantage for keeping more money or more space for other things, however in real world it’s considered animal abuse for keeping fishes in small aquarium to prevent them growing.
Regarding the big critters stats, here is the critters detail I got so far, this a stat where the animals is already at maximum size… It’s still incomplete and probably will take few days to complete them, anyway here’s the list:

Aquarist Stat
Every aquarist have different stat and different skills, you can make them level up or learn new skills by clicking them, you can also assign them to a specific area for their task (I will add this one later). Keep in mind that a staff with higher skill have more expensive salary each day.
Aquarist status point and skills
- Fitness: Determines talent for Cleaning and Gift Shop. This stat also determines the movement speed of aquarist
- Precision: Determines talent for Fixing and to lesser extent Feeding
- Empathy: Determines talent for Feeding and to lesser extent the Gift Shop
- Memory: Determines the experience rate of aquarist, and to lesser extent Fixing and Talking
- Charisma: Determines talent for Talking
Aquarium Maintenance
The game give a basic detail about aquarium maintaining, however there’s more to it. Some animals and ornaments can help you maintain and improve the water quality of an aquarium, however unlike real world, not all plant in the game can do this, here’s some tips for maintaining the aquarium.
1. Filter Power
Help you maintain the water quality. Basic Filtration System, Rocks and some animal have this, it’s better to keep more rocks than just basic plants, use the live rocks instead normal rocks if possible and if possible always put the animals that have filtration power as your main animals tankmates (example: Common Starfish with Atlantic Pollock)
2. Skimmer Power
Help you achieve higher water quality. Skimmer Machine (I will check the game later for the correct machine name) have better filtration system than the Power Filter, only the Skimmer Machine have this. If possible use this rather than basic filter for animals that need a high water quality.
3. Nitrite Power
Help you achieve higher water quality. Nitrite Machine and just like real fish keeping, some plants have this. The machine are more efficient than the Skimmer and the basic Filter, if possible use the plant that have Nitrite Power than the normal plant for the aquarium.
4. More Fish = More Filtration
Just like real fish keeping, the more cramped the aquarium the more filtration will be needed to maintain the water quality. This is because more waste being produced by the animals in the aquariums, if you haven’t have a good filtration machine, it’s better to put less fishes in an aquarium, otherwise the animals will slowly die.
5. Bigger Tank = More Maintenance
The more big the aquarium capacity, the more heater/chiller and filtration system it need. This also work if you want to connect a water pump to more than 1 aquarium, the more tank you connect to a water pump the more machine it will need to maintain the water quality.
6. Hide Your Filtration System
The Guest dislike seeing the filtration system, always hide it with a walls otherwise you will lose some prestige point
7. Ornaments
For early game, it’s better to use an ornament that can help maintain your aquariums rather than an ornaments just to increase your prestige. Use the prestige ornaments in late game (for example: The Canon or Barrels)
