Pacific Drive Guide to Harvesting and Materials

The game does not explain anything about mid to late-game resource harvesting, so this section will inform you of what you need to know about where and how to acquire certain resources and the various ways you can.

Note: This guide is in no way complete, and I just wanted to publish it to help those like me collecting 137 marsh eggs by hand, one at a time.

Starting Loot

Pressurized Cartridges
Pressurized Cartridges can be found in TVs and sodium vapor lights (Only harvested by scrapper).

Harvesting and Materials

Harvesting and Materials

Lead
Lead can be found from Lead plating in research outposts within the zones or near anomalies and often includes multiple lab computers inside the research lab.

Harvesting and Materials

Light Bulbs
They Can be Crafted or Found in lights, and gathered by a vacuum (obviously).

Harvesting and Materials

Thermosap Crystals

The Beautiful red glow of these crystals can be found in the marshes in specific zones. But if you only need a few scrapings, armored cars can drop a few without going to the swamp.

Additionally, “Tourists have a small chance of dropping thermosap crystals when they explode. Likewise, shocked tourists will occasionally drop plasma containers.

Throwing lit flares at them is the best way to detonate them safely from a distance.”

You can just throw anything you don’t need.

Below is a Sap Condenser That you can break with an impact hammer to receive 8-20 thermosap.

Harvesting and Materials

Marsh Eggs

Marsh eggs are those little glowing pink balls on scrap cars next to the large glowing orbs in the middle marsh zone.

Harvesting and Materials

Despite being able to pick them up by hand, you can use the vacuum to pick up large amounts quickly at the same time (as shown below).

Harvesting and Materials

You will need a lot of marsh eggs for upgrades, and you need 80 to build one blow torch.

Swamp Coral

Swamp coral is a common resource that grows on large obsidian-looking rock outcroppings called Neon Reefs that glow purple.

Harvesting and Materials

You can gather them with a vacuum, but they duck away before you can grab them, so you chase them around.

There is a better way!: if you do not have the thermo vac that shines light at them, they come out of the rock to any light. So you can park your car nearby, shining them with light, which works just as well.

But watch out for shorting out the electrical equipment in your car (for sitting in the water too long)

Harvesting and Materials

Side note:
Despite being called “Coral,” They do not necessarily spawn in the water.

Harvesting and Materials

Tree Candy

Tree Candies are little red stalks jutting out from what looks like dead tree stumps in the middle zone’s desolate Sectors. It can be picked up by hand or with a vacuum.

Harvesting and Materials

Red Ballons

Red Balloons can be found by vacuuming up the Beach ball anomalies inside the deep zone (shown below) as well they might drop other items, such as pearls and car parts.

Harvesting and Materials

Magnets

Magnets Can not be harvested, but can be found, or made with scrap by these devices found in the deep zone:

Harvesting and Materials

Explocives

Should you actually be handling this stuff?

Explosives can be found inside the deep zone in wooden boxes strewn about the area, and are Usually next to other anomalies or structures.

Olympium Fragments

These fragments can be found in the deep zone on Tall purple pillars with a slight purple glow. They can only be mined by a tier 2 pneumatic hammer and usually contain 2-5 olypium crystals on it that drop 1-4 fragments.
