Stardew Valley: How to Get the Golden Scythe (New 1.4 item)

Here is how to get the new Golden Scythe introduced in the 1.4 update.

How to Get the Golden Scythe

Requirements

To access this item, there are a few requirements we need to go over first. Skip this if you already have them.

Requirement #1 – Quarry Bridge

The Quarry is unlocked by completing the crafts room bundles in the community center. Complete these and sleep on the same day and the bridge will be repaired and the Quarry can be accessed.

Requirement #2 – Good gear

Gear like swords and rings are mostly obtained from either the mines or Marlon in the Adventurer’s Guild. To access the Guild, you must complete the initiation quests that Marlon gives you once you first enter the mines. The gear can be obtained by talking to Marlon in the guild building.

The location of the scythe

The scythe is found at the end of a dungeon found in a cave in the quarry. The cave is just above the end of the bridge. Once you’ve entered the cave, climb down the ladder. Congratulations, you’ve just found the dungeon that the scythe is found in!

The Dungeon

In the dungeon, 2 types of enemies are found here, the Skull and the slime. They are of the same difficulty as the Desert cave. Slimes are all familiar to us but the skulls are a little different at first but are fairly similar to serpents. The strategy here is to wait until the skull goes in to strike and hit it with the sword.

The cavern has an end, and at the end, there is a Grim Reaper statue holding the scythe in its hands. Interact with the statue and you’ll obtain the Golden Scythe.

About the Scythe

The Golden Scythe is more powerful than the regular one. It can take out a patch of grass in one hit, rather than two. It is a tool worth getting for this reason. I also believe it can collect more hay than the regular scythe which in itself is beneficial for those who focus on animal products in their runs of the game.
