Basics for building more efficient outposts.
Starship Troopers Extermination Base Building
Here’s a few tips to build outpost fit for a fight.
Ammo Crates
Stop building ammo crates right away in the middle. It’s currently limited to 4 at the same time and need to be depleted to be replaced.
We need one ammo crate per battlefront. Distribute accordingly if there’s four fronts, if there’s fewer it might be beneficial to wait until the beginning of the attack to see which front is getting hit the hardest.
Also the crates need to be on the walls, getting down and back and forth is a huge waste of time out of the fight. The heavy (bastion) add tremendous firepower but they are not as mobile. And we need our heavy boys with their machine guns on top of their game, and our walls with readily available ammunition.
Ideally they should be able to rearm without interrupting their siege mode.
Wall ramps
Build walls with ramps, it cost the same and we need to access the walls, that’s where the fight is at. Unless it’s for clearance reasons, build the ramp version. Except for the hunter class and it’s boosted jumps. It’s hard to access the catwalk.
The automatic turrets can be integrated to the walls, out of the way and with good
angles on the battlefield. But it might make them more vulnerable. Regardless, put them out of the way but with good angles.
Watchtowers are great but they should be close enough to the walls or even better
integrated in it to allow enough clearance and so the shooter can defend the foot of the walls as well.
Here is an example of a functional size limited fighting outpost layout With quick access, turrets and watchtower integrated and an ammo crate for fast rearming without leaving the position.
It’s possible to use the roof of bunkers as well, make access and build small walls for protection against incoming fire.
There it is troopers, now go fight for mankind with better bases. Your performance reflect on the mobile infantry.
