The Outer Worlds Nyoka Companions Guide

The Outer Worlds is the latest RPG from renowned developer, Obsidian Entertainment. Like most RPGs, the game features companions that you can take with you.

Before we dive into where and how to find companions, you need to know a few things. You can only have two active companions with you so chose carefully. You can swap companions if you don’t feel that a particular companion in the Outer Worlds doesn’t suit your play style.

Not only that, each companion in the game has perk bonuses and abilities. Companion perks grant bonuses to players and with each level, your companion unlocks a new perk. Each companion features a perk that grants party bonuses. This allows players to chose companions that best suit their play style.

The Outer Worlds Companions also have abelites which only unlock if your Determination skill is over 20. As you level up Leadership skills for your character the more companion abilities unlock.

Nyoka’s companion quest in the Outer Worlds is the Star-Crossed Troopers. This involves tracking down members of her lost crew and collecting mementos.

Star-Crossed Troopers Quest Guide

This Companion Quest will only be available if you complete the Passion Pills and recruit Nyoka. Talk to Nyoka once you’ve exited Monarch Wilderness, she will ask for your help for a dangerous task, accept to start the quest.

You will first have to visit Hayes’ Grave along side Nyoka. She will give you the directions to the spot.

After which you will need to give Nyoka the Medallions which you will loot from Anderson and Rebekah who will be lying dead on the floor, after you defeat a group of Marauders at the Abandoned Spacer’s Choice Settlement. The medallions will have CHARON written on them.

Then you will ask Hiram to help you track down Nyoka’s lost friends. Hiram will give you the coordinates of the Outpost in Emerald Vale, where Rebekah and Anderson went.

Search the Outpost for Revekah’s and Anderson’s remains and retrieve their medallions. After which you will need to colelct three Pheromone Glands from Pungent Primals. Note that the mantiqueen will only come out if she believes that there’s an ongoing threat of the invasion of her territory.

You will have to go to Scylla to get Primal Pheromone Glands. Once you’re here, go to the navigation markers and put down the Pungent Primal Behemoths and loot the Pheromone Gland, which you will have to give to Nyoka.

Now go back to Monarch to kill the Mantiqueen, whom you will find at the southern end of the map. Consider fast traveling to the C&P Boarst Factory. You will need the password Charon, given to you by Nyoka, to unlock the door to Mantisaur Hive.

Loot Opal and Clara’s bodies, put down the Mantisaurs, and place the Glands at the navigation points. After this you will have to kill the Mantiqueen with her minions. Once you’re done, talk to Nyoka to receive your awards and examine the graves to complete the Quest.

You will get thirty-eight thousand (38,000) XP, and twenty-five hundred (1,313) Bit Cartridges along with a Framed Photograph.

Passion Pills Walkthrough

Speak with Nyoka in Stellar Bay on Monarch to gain this quest.

Make your way to Abigail Edwards, the medic located in a small building on the left side of the Stellar Bay map. You can ask her for Caffenoid supplements, and then have to reveal who they are for. You can lie (20) or say they are for Nyoka, or private. Abigail will reval that Nyoka’s allotment is exhausted due to her non-participation in their health scheme. She mentions Dr. Williams manage the town allotments from an upstairs terminal. You can persuade (35), ask about Dr. Williams, or Intimidate (55) to get your way. Persuade her, and she’ll reveal she has a key to the supply room, that is upstairs. You can ask about Dr. Williams and you’ll obtain an optional objective of searching his body at the graveyard.

You can go upstairs and hack (55) the terminal to login as Williams to increase Nyoka’s allotment. Note that you can’t do this if you have a Below Average Intelligence because you cannot spell Nyoka correctly, and thus can’t find her entry.

You can also pick your way into the supply room, or get Dispensary Supply Room Key from Dr. Williams corpse or by pickpocketing Abigail.

If you hacked the terminal, return to Abigail and ask her to look again, she will then give you the dose. You’ll get 21,000xp

Make your way back to Nyoka. You can explore near the tavern first and meet Talmadge Kerr, who will be shouting someone has been killed inside the apartments. Go into the building to unlock the quest The Stainless Steel Rat.

Once you’re back to Nyoka, you’ll get 21000xp for the step and 28000xp for completing passion pills, plus 14400xp for completing Radio Free Monarch step. Accept Nyoka’s offer to come with you and she will join you as your last Companion.

Signal Point in Space Walkthrough

This quest is automatically gained after speaking with Sophia Akande during the Long Distance quest after turning in Phineas Welles.

Speak with Everett Gill in Stellar Bay on Monarch. He’ll tell you where you need to go to find the broadcasting station on Devil’s Peak. If you ask about getting some help, he’ll tell you to find Nyoka in The Yacht Club in Stellar Bay.

Nyoka is currently drunk and you’ll need to finish her quest Passion Pills in order to get her to help you. Once you do so you’ll gain 24,000 XP.

Once finished with Passion Pills you will need to head south from Stellar Bay to Fallbrook. The Devil’s Peak Station is a good ways northwest of Fallbrook, so it will take you a while to get there and you will likely do several other quests along the way.

Once you arrive at Devil’s Peak Summit speak with Joy Voivode regarding the relay tower she is guarding. Signal Point in Space will update with a note that you may be able to convince the C3 mercenary company to help you.

They are down the hill a short ways. You can Persuade (20) them not to kill you if you said you emerged from the tunnel, and then you can ask them to help you clear the Marauders from the Station. Additionally, if you inquire further about their boss you will obtain the Task: Mandibles of Doom.

If you complete this Task then you can convince the C3 mercenaries to help you attack the Marauders if you can get the main gate open.

Head the entrance of the Devils’ Peak Station and defeat the Marauders there. There are a lot so be careful. If you have a minute head northeast and loot the Unique Weapon: Hammer of Olympus at Sundered Rock. Then head up the ramp and head into Devil’s Peak Station.

Defeat the Marauders inside and then speak to the man via the Intercom, whom you will find out Hiram. If Nyoka is in your party he will recognize her. Hiram will ask you to wipe out the Marauders in exchange for double the going rate. He doesn’t want his broadcasting equipment destroyed. There is a Lockpicking (55) door nearby that has some loot inside, so consider picking it if you can. Then double back and head up the elevator that is now open.

You’ll need to kill all the Marauders here. If you finished the Mandibles of Doom task and convinced the C3 mercenaries to help you, they will help you wipe out the Marauders. Use the Intercom to open the door and speak to Hiram Blythe. You’ll gain 2,500 Bit Cartridges. Ask him about the Information Broker and you’ll gain an Achievement/Trophy and 16000 XP.

Hiram will ask you to jump start the tower by heading outside and flipping a switch. There is a terminal on the way that you can read some backstory about the Station if you wish. Once you flip the switch a ship will crash land nearby and Graham and Sanji will argue over what to do with it, and the Faction Quest: Canid’s Cradle will trigger.

Head back inside and speak to Hiram and tell him you need to shutdown illegal broadcasts. You can shut the place down but this will require you to attack and kill everyone left in the station including Hiram. You can Persuade (60) or Lie (60) to get him to work for Sophia Akande, or you can just tell him that will work. This will net you 24000 XP. In order to convince him you’ll have to have shut down the boadcasts at Stellar Bay and Amber Heights by completing the quests: BOLT with His Name, Errors Unseen, The Commuter and Pay for the Printer.

Return to Sophia and let her know what’s happened. She will be pleased if you brokered an alliance with Hiram. You will gain 2500 Bit Cartridges, 96000 XP and Reputation up with The Board. You will then watch a video from the Chairman about how Halcyon is running out of food and that they will freeze people to keep population down, while the brightest figure out how to solve the problem.

If you ask Sophia about what’s happening and pass a Perception check then you will learn that the research on Roseway was to develop and appetite supressent to keep people from eating too much. Sophia does not like the Bureaucracy, and is not a fan of the board. If you sided with the Adelaide McDevitt on Edgewater she will tell you that you need to wipe out the town and there can’t be any survivors. She’s sent a group of robots that can be set to malfunction and kill everyone. This will begin the quest Foundation.
