Alex Hill Whispers at White Oak Inn: Walkthrough Guide
During the game, don’t forget to check your task list, which is available through the three-bar menu (the icon in the middle on the left). It’s very important to talk to all the main characters you meet at the hotel and the store, including Ronnie, Dennis, Lauren, Shirley, and Henry. After each significant discovery, make sure to call Consilio and Cassandra, and later Lisa-their advice will often help you progress further.
Prologue
At the beginning of the game, your first task will be to talk to Consilio. Open the office door and speak with Cassandra-this will lead to a conversation with Consilio himself. After that, you will need to review the case materials-the case file is on your desk. Click on it to start the investigation.
Once you’ve studied the materials, get in the car and head to the “White Oak” hotel. Enter the hotel and speak with Ronnie at the reception. He will give you the key to your room. Open the door to Room 2 and go to sleep-this will complete the prologue.
Day 1
The next day, start by checking in with Ronnie. First, talk to Shirley, then speak with Ronnie again. After that, it’s a good idea to call Consilio and Cassandra to update them on your progress. In the hotel’s main hall, you will find a mysterious box-be sure to examine it.
When you approach the box to open it, talk to Ronnie first and ask him about the puzzle. If you can’t solve it right away, check your phone for a hint-there are Latin phrases related to the puzzle. Look around carefully, especially at all the clocks in the hotel, including the large antique clock. Take note of the time displayed on these clocks. Then, return to the box and set the dials to the code 1 2 1 5.
To enter the correct combination, you may need to turn the dials several times-start with the second dial and set it to 2, then adjust the third dial to reach the correct number. Return to the second dial if needed, and continue adjusting the others. Set the last dial to 5 and, finally, adjust the first dial to 1.
When the box is opened, a new stage begins – you need to talk to the suspects. First, discuss any new topics with Ronnie, then stop by Shirley’s room five. While you’re there, turn around and read the book “Ghost Cases”. After that, head to Dennis’ office to talk to him.
Then go outside and take the path to the Grand Air store where Lauren is waiting for you. Be sure to talk to her and then call Consilio and Cassandra again. Don’t forget to read the ghost note on your phone as well. After that, go back to Shirley and Ronnie to share the information.
Next you will have to find a part for the bicycle. Talk to Dennis and then get the part from Lauren. But to fix the bike, you’ll need a pump. You can look for it at Ronnie’s and Dennis’ houses, look behind the barn behind the inn, look through the window, or look in the trunk.
When you have everything you need, you can start fixing it. Look at the flat bike behind the hotel and read the instructions on your phone on how to fix the tire. From the inventory, drag the parts to the bike, then click on the wheel to remove it, and use the yellow tire irons to remove the tire. Find the tube, treat it with a special anti-puncture agent. Then connect the pump to the tube and inflate it four times, disconnect the pump, return the tube to the rim, put the tire back on, reconnect the pump and inflate the wheel to 70 PSI. You will then have the ability to move the tire quickly.
You can now head to Anew View and talk to Henry. After a casual conversation, turn left to pick up a magnet that you can buy from Henry. Ask him about the other characters. Then visit Lauren again at the store, and afterwards go back to the hotel and talk to Dennis and Ronnie.
After that, you will have to find the key card. To do this, go back to your room and open the suitcase, where you will get the lock picking kit.
Night 1
At night, go to Dennis’s office and pick the lock using a lockpick. The correct pin order is 5, 4, 3, 6, 7, 2, 1, 8. Once inside, open the middle drawer of the desk to take the compass and to-do list, then check the upper right drawer.
Inside, you will find a new puzzle on the table. To solve it, set the following symbols on the panel:
- North (dot at the top),
- Dot in the center,
- South (dot at the bottom),
- Dot in the center,
- West (dot on the left),
- Dot in the center,
- East (dot on the right),
- Dot in the center.
Then, read Eliza’s journal and pay attention to the key positions.
You will find a key and a keycard. Turn to the bookshelf, take out the book about American ferries, open it, and in the right corner, you will find a clue: Dennis’s password is Maritime1905. Go to his computer, enter the password, and check both his email and a website.
After leaving the office, head to the shed and use the keycard on the scanner. Check Audrey’s chest, move the boxes on the left, and read the inscription on the side. To open the chest, set the following symbols:
- Sun on the left panel,
- Flower in the middle,
- Bird on the right.
Inside, you will find a journal and a game cartridge.
Then, check the trash bin at the reception desk for a word puzzle and a letter. Finally, make sure to visit Shirley before going to sleep to finish the first day.
Day 2
In the morning, your first task is to call Concilio and Cassandra to discuss the recent events. Afterward, visit Shirley, who is waiting for you. Speak to Ronnie at the reception desk, who will give you Lisa’s phone number.
Once you have Lisa’s number, call her immediately. During the conversation, you will learn new important details. After that, talk to Dennis again, then head to Lauren.
If you want to help Lauren with product sales, follow these rules:
- If the price is above $18.99, apply a 10% discount, but if it’s a T-shirt, apply a 20% discount.
- If the price is below $18.99, apply a 15% discount, except for drinks (no discount for them).
- Helmets always get a 25% discount.
After helping Lauren, talk to her again, then visit Henry to exchange news and call Cassandra once more.
Next, knock on Shirley’s door and enter when permitted. Check her bag next to the chair—inside, you will find a mobile phone. To unlock it, connect four dots in any order.
- Look through her photos (pay attention to Dennis by the fireplace and Henry at the gazebo).
- Check her ID.
- Before leaving, examine the typewriter.
Then, go to the right side of the fireplace-you will find three keyholes. Head to the gazebo, turn around, and look up-you will see Eliza’s poem.
After that, go to the boathouse. Don’t touch the planks in the big house yet, but check the planks in the smaller one—there’s a hidden passage. Try to open it. Then, inspect the boat—there is a hole inside.
To fix the boat, call Cassandra again. Speak to Shirley, then return to your room and read the note left for you.
Night 2
Once it gets dark, go to the shed. Behind the bottles, you will find a spatula—take it. Then, head to the pier where the boat is located and look for boat sealant.
Return to the boat and use the sealant to repair the hole.
After the repair, get into the boat and cross the lake. On the other side, find the projector. Then, return to the lakeside house, where you will meet Ronnie. Call Cassandra to share your findings.
Day 3
In the morning, talk to Concilio, then call Cassandra and Lisa again. After the calls, visit Dennis—he will be angry, so the conversation will be tense.
To take a break, help Lauren schedule bike repairs:

- Take the cup.
You can bring the latte to Shirley. Then, talk to Dennis and Lauren again.
If you want to investigate further, search Lauren’s truck:
- Look under the back seat,
- Check the glove compartment,
- Examine the photo and the route.
After that, return to the hotel. Upon entering, turn around and leave the building.
Night 3
That evening, go to Henry’s store. Use the keys you found earlier to unlock both the store and the staff room. Open the desk drawer, press the secret panel, and use a magnet to unlock the hidden compartment. Inside, you’ll find a key and a password.

On his computer, check:

Afterward, head to the fireplace at the hotel.

Navigate through the tunnels using the following directions:

Inside the bunker, examine the table with the hat and projectors. Then, check the other table with the book and typewriter-make sure to read the poem. Inspect the bookshelf and record player. After leaving the bunker, pull the lever and open the locked gate.

Look under the left side of the bunker to find a pole. Examine the door, open the panel, press the button, pull the lever, and insert the pole into the slot. After this, Lauren will run out of the bunker. Follow her outside and pull the lever again.
