Steam Engine Simulator Vacuum Achievements Guide

Steam Engine Simulator How to unlock the vacuum achievement – A small guide to explain the new vacuum achievement.

Steam Engine Simulator Vacuum Achievements Guide

The new update that just released today adds quite some new mechanics, which can be overwhelming when first looking at them. But with a little bit of thinking it is quite easy to figure out.

What does the update add?

This update adds many new mechanics that I need to go over to actually explain how to get the new achievements.

The water inlet

As you can see there are two important parts in the new water inlet system. On the left you can see the water inlet valve, which adds water to your boiler at a constant 50 psi. Which also means you can’t add water to the boiler if the boiler pressure is above 50 psi, something you should keep in mind. Now on the right side you see the drainage, just flip the little switch and all water and steam will slowly exit the boiler.

The manual rotation lever

This little lever lets you manually rotate the engine, which you can still do with your spacebar as well.

The engine speed gauge

Nothing much to explain here, just a simple gauge to show the engine speed

The real important stuff

See this little new part of the pressure gauge? To explain it in an easy way, it is the part that shows you how big the vacuum in your boiler is. Which we will use in the next part of this guide.

How to unlock the achievements

After a quick google search on how a vacuum is created in a steam engine I can now explain how you can create a vacuum yourself in your steam boiler. First you let a small amount of water in, you don’t need more than some drops of water to get your vacuum. After adding the water you turn up the heat to 100% and let that water cook up, and be sure the throttle valve is completely shut.

Also be sure to close the relief valve by pressing X

Wait for the pressure to go to 350 psi and then turn the heat back off, this will cause the water to condense and fall back into the steam boiler. And that will cause the pressure to go into the vacuum area.

And this is how you unlock the achievements. I also suggest entering “hell mode” by pressing the little A in the bottom right a couple of times if it doesn’t work normally. And if you can’t reach the needed amount in the first try just try it again and again.
