This guide goes over all the ins and outs regarding gambling in casinos. Including the best strategies, rewards, and achievements.

Caravan will NOT be covered in this guide.

Fallout: New Vegas Gambling Guide

Each casino has its own chips, this is purely visual – all chips can be used at all casino’s.
Chips can be bought and cashed out with NCR money, Legion currency, or Caps.

From 7 Luck or higher the odds will be in the Couriers favor when gambling. It is possible to increase the Couriers’ luck using the following methods:

  • Install Luck Implant at the New Vegas Medical Clinic (4.000 caps)
  • Intense Training perk and increasing Luck
  • Purchase Naughty Nightwear, at Mick & Ralph’s (200 caps)
  • Find Lucky Shades inside Caesar’s Legion Safehouse on a bed
  • Early Bird skill (+2 between 6am/12pm)
  • Completing the final quest for Lonesome Road and increasing Luck
  • Find “Blackjack” Courier Duster at the entrance of Canyon Wreckage after completing Lonesome Road and having a neutral or below reputation with Caesar’s Legion, Mr. House, and the NCR. (Yes-Man ending)

Using the Mear of Champions and Just Lucky I’m Alive skills is also possible but I would only use this as a last resort since it’s a huge hassle.

Slot Machines are affected by the Luck stat.
7 Luck is the break-even point for Slots, with a Luck stat of 10 Slot Machines become a viable way to easily make money.
