Here are the basics on how to gear up and not quit the game because you find it hard to get some loot.

Big Single-Floor House

Food in the kitchen.
Sometimes food in the dining table.
Pretty much nothing in the living room.
Rarely some misc items and food along with some clothes in the first bedroom.
In the second bedroom there may be some clothes on top of the bed and sometimes a small backpack in the corner.
Bandages/rags in the bathroom.

In some variants of this house the living room may be destroyed and some clothes or bandages spawn instead.

Food in the kitchen.
Some food or clothes in the couches of the living room.
Possibly a pistol with mag or some food in the drawer under the TV or a carlington/wastland with ammo behind it.
Some food in the dining table.
Check the corner next to the stairs behind the boxes and you may find a weapon.
Next to the stairs in the drawers theres some food or bandages.
In the first bedroom check behind the door for some stuff.
Also don’t forget to check on top of the big cabinet for some weapons ranging from a baseball vat to a shotgun with ammo.
In the second bedroom you can find some clothes or food in the drawer.
in the third bedroom you can find clothes on the selves and some food on the floor next to the sleeping bag.
In the corner of the third room behind some boxes you can find a small backpack.
You can also RARELY find some crafting guides in the selves of the third bedroom.
Bandages/rags in the bathroom.
Some car parts in the garage and rarely a small backpack.

Food in the kitchen.
Some food and clothes in the living room.
In the first bedroom you can find some clothes and some food on the selves.
Bandages/rags in the bathroom.
In the second bedroom you can find some food on the floor and possibly a small backpack in the corner next to the two selves.
In the attic you may find a weapon in the corner ranging from a Lug wrench to a carlington with ammo but its pretty rare.
You can also find sme food and misc items in the floor and on the selves.

In some variants of this house the living room is baricated and behind a bed you can find a pistol with mag along with other misc items in the room.

You can find food in the shelves and drinks in the fridges.
A small backpack occasionally spawns in one of the selves.
Some car parts can be found near one of the two entrances.
Some clothes and other misc items can be found in a back room in one side of the building.

On the front of the car there may be some car parts ,sometimes food or a weapon.
On top of the car a tire can be spawned occasionally.
On the trunk of the car some weapons can be found ranging from a knife to a carlington with ammo.

Lots of food and drinks in the shelves along with some misc items and sometimes a mellee weapon or two.
In the drawers behind the counter you can find food,gas canisters or ammo for guns hidden in a selve.
In the back room you can find car parts and sometimes a small backpack.

Misc items,some clothes,some food and drinks can be found on the shelves.
In the selves behind the counter you may find from mellee weapons to a shotgun or even a carlington with their ammo.

Food in the kitchen.
clothes and misc items in the living room/couch.
Clothes , sometimes food,mellee weapon and also a small backpack along with crafting guides can be found in the bedroom.
Bandages/rags in the bathroom.

Misc items along with some car parts and maybe a rag or two in the selves.
In the staff room you can find some clothes/helmets and a gas canister.
In the room with the printer you can find some misc items and some food.
In the room with the sleeping bags you can find some food , maybe some clothes/helmets and some misc items.
In the room with the blue chair you can find a smoke grenade on top of a box , a gun with ammo inside the little drawer, and maybe a gas canister on the floor.
