Easy Money
Here is a very short guide to making some money early on with little effort and money loss.
You need access to the following:
- Junkyard – costs 500 per visit
- Welder 5000 credits – 500 per use
- CarWash 5000 credits – 100 per use
1. When you have all that and around 10000 in the bank head to the junkyard and buy a car (does not matter but leave at the very least 500 credits) and head back to the garage with it
2. Put in on a lift and use the welder on it for 500 credits
3. Sell it
You don’t make tons of money doing this but you do make a profit and it does vary per car with how much you get but doing this i have always made a profit. You can also bump up the value by saving parts from job cars and fitting it to these cars aswell.
OR
Note: After more playing, simply restoring a car (replacing everything) has proven very profitable so far. I did build up 20k using the above method but have since used that money to start restoring cars and building credits that way. it has helped speed up the purchasing of all garage upgrades.
How to drain fluids
For most of you, this is probably obvious. However, I struggled with this a bit in the beginning so I decided to make this little guide.
Oil
- Raise the car on the car lift
- Click on the oil drain and click ‘move -> to car lift’
- Click on the oil drain again and click ‘use’
- Oil will now be flowing
- Once it stops, click on the oil drain again and click ‘move -> move back’
Other fluids
- Make sure the car is lowered
- Open the hood
- Left click to work on the part you want to drain
- Right click on the cap
- Left click on ‘Additional Tools’
- Left click on ‘Drain Tool’
- You are now in drain mode. Simply hold left click on the cap of the fluid you want to drain
- To exit this mode, either press ‘escape’ or press right click and then press ‘Switch to part unmount mode’
Adding your music to the Radio
Don’t you like the music, that comes from the radio? You wished, you could add your favourite songs? You can! And it’s very simple.
- Go to your Steam folder and follow this path:
- and add your songs there.
Steam\steamapps\common\Car Mechanic Simulator 2021\Car Mechanic Simulator 2021_Data\StreamingAssets\Music\User
In “Car Mechanic Simulator 2018” you had to put .ogg data in the game folder. But not with the 2021 Version! I mean, you still can, but why using .ogg data if you can use .mp3, right?!
Best Value Tuning Shop Parts
How to get the most bang for your buck while doing tuning orders. Link to spreadsheet with the part’s values calculated.
The best value performance parts are: Air Filters, Carburetors, Exhaust Manifolds, and Ignition parts (excluding the default “Ignition Coil”). For electric cars the Cables are a cheap boost too.
I found this out by creating a chart with all the tuning shop parts cost vs their performance gain.
It calculates each part’s value divided by its percent increase in the “Cost per %” column, lower being better.
You can right click the top of column D and sort sheet A-Z to organize the sheet by value instead of alphabetically if you prefer.
I created this to find out which parts give the most performance for the least cash, so I could be thrifty while doing tuning jobs. Hope it helps!

All Story Cars
All the story orders… in order, with parts listed for ease of access.
Just a quick reference for the tires:
For example:
4x Standard Tires (215/75R15 ET:0)
215 refers to the width
75R is profile
The 15 at the end is size
The size is the same for the rims as well
Just come back to this if you need to remember how to order the tires correctly

Increase tuning of a car by 10-15%
You don’t need to increase horsepower or torque. You need to increase the Tuning, as shown below
Parts can be found in the Tuning Shop, the number displayed under the supercharger (?)
Parts that I bought to add up to 10-15%
Alternator (1.5%)
Engine Head (I4 SOHC) (5%)
Intake Manifold (I4 MPI) (1.25%)
Camshaft (I4 SOHC) (2.75%)
Fuel Rail MPI (3%)
These parts add up to 13.5% so it will be enough to finish the job. It won’t show up as completed until you put the engine back together though
