A Little to the Left Merry Mess Guide: Christmas 2023 Puzzles

A guide for the Christmas 2023 Puzzles: Merry Mess.

A Little to the Left Merry Mess Guide: Christmas 2023 Puzzles

This is essentially just a quick walkthrough for the 5 new Holiday Puzzles, in-case you need help. I will have both written explanations and pictures.

Day 1 (December 22nd) – Candycanes

This puzzle essentially has two parts to it. You need to put the Candy Canes together and then organize them from which is the most white to the most red.

The candy canes won’t “connect”/complete themselves until all parts are connected so don’t worry if you’re sure a part is right and it doesn’t immediately stick together.

This is what the finished puzzle looks like:

Day 2 (December 23rd) – Trains

Like with yesterday’s puzzle, this is another multi-step puzzle. The first step is to get each of the Holiday Poppers lined up so their ribbons intersect (as if they were holding hands in a sense).

The Cat will then show up and break one to reveal a piece of the Train. Break each of the other Poppers by clicking them to get the other train pieces. Then you simply need to put the Train together.

Day 3 (December 24th) – Snowglobes

This is the first and one of two puzzles to have multiple solutions in Merry Mess.

The three solutions are as follows:

  • Having each Snowman that has both their arms pointing up like this (ovo)/ facing forward.
  • Have each of the labels facing forward/centered.
  • Having the snowglobe angled so the snow is connected to one another in a sense.

And here are the photos showing each:

As a note, solutions 2 and 3 are VERY particular. I had considered both of those early on and crossed them off when nothing triggered only to try them again and they suddenly worked. I must’ve been *just* slightly off the first times I tried.

Day 4 (December 25th) – Presents

This was easily the puzzle that took me the longest as I had so many ideas and more or less ended up overthinking way too much.

All you have to do is have it, so the present patterns connect into a pattern on the next present. That’s it.

It is still very particular though and some parts are just barely showing for it to be correct.

Day 5 (December 26th) – Nutcracker

The only other multi-solution puzzle, this one has five total solutions:

  • From shortest to tallet
  • From the amount of gold baubles (the gold dot on the top of a hat or a point) they have from least to most.
  • Held item length: Shortest to tallest– as a hint, the shortest is the one not holding anything.
  • Beard length. Again, shortest to tallest.
  • Finally, the gold bands on their boots/legs. Shortest/lowest ones to tallest/highest ones.

As an aside, it’s likely many of these can go either way (IE: Tallest or shortest or Most gold baubles to least), but I am just saying the ones I did.

I think these are pretty obvious so I’m not going to include screenshots, but if you need some, let me know! Or… they’re all in the video so.
